The restoration of world-renowned artist Endre Szász's monumental porcelain mural has begun at the Hollóháza Porcelain Manufactory in honor of the factory's upcoming 250th anniversary.
Believed to have been created in 1986, the approximately 16-square-meter mural consists of 45 porcelain panels of varying sizes. Over the decades, several of these panels have been damaged. Based on the artist's original design, the manufactory is now restoring the work at its own expense.
To commemorate the founding of the Hollóháza Porcelain Manufactory in 1777, the masterpiece, titled "The Seekers" (Útkeresők), is expected to be unveiled to the public once again in its original splendor in the near future.
